The blazer - a thing of beauty as far as I'm concerned, which looks amazing with jeans, skirts (short or long, I'm a particular fan of a shorter skirt with a long blazer) and fab dresses.
This one item can instantly pull your look together, smarten a pair of ripped jeans and quite frankly keep you warm when it's not quite coat weather yet, but looks to be threatening it already (and it's only blooming August!).
I'm starting with Warehouse's honey checked blazer (this one is via Next) and due in stock soon, £56. It's so 1980's it hurts (and that's a good thing!) and it will be on my buy list to fling over jeans and a tshirt or camisole on warmer days (who am I kidding?!).
Sticking with checks, H&M have a grey version, £34.99 that's a great shape as it nips in at the waist.
Next up is a cord blazer, but don't judge me. This is not your average, 'patches on the elbows cord' but a bright red, 'look at me now' statement blazer. The Oxshott from Boden, is £120 in this colour.
Sticking with Boden (and only good if you're a size 16 as they've sold out of all other sizes) their Addlestone Blazer in navy, £120 is a great choice.
Onto Zara now and in all honesty I may as well just include a link to their blazers page as I'd wear them all! Favourites include their checked tweed blazer, £89.99..
Their jacket with contrast cuff, £79.99..
Their red Blazer without lapel, £49.99..
Up next an investment blazer from Pierre Balmain via Net-a-Porter, £282 (but was £705). Their sale is still on, so if you're looking for something special it's always worth a visit here!
But if you're not looking to invest, Mango have a fantastic structured blazer, £29.99. Personally I'd only be entertaining the grey option..
Oh but I think this double-breasted white blazer from Mango, £69.99 is my overall favourite.
