In the Navy..

It's not YMCA, but still a classic!

Navy is one of those shades I always recommend to clients as it's softer than black and can be dressed up or down easily. I think the connotations of it being something your nan might have worn or a shade that's a tad 'boring' are not the case. Navy is really versatile and suits everyone, although I think it looks particularly good on blondes and red heads (boo, .

So I've done the searching and here are some of my favourite navy picks out there at the moment. I usually try and put these in some semblance of order, but not today - so it's a real mix of dresses, trousers, jumpers and the rest!

A client recently tried this ripple stich knit dress on from Warehouse, £46 and I assure you looked considerably hotter than the model in the pic (not that the model isn't lovely!). Really flattering, a great knit dress.

I love a jumper dress and this midi length ripple stitch version from Asos, £32, is simple and comfortable. However is it me, what on earth is the sock / shoe combo about? Not my cup of tea at all - sorry Asos!

These pressed flannel crop wide leg trousers from Whistles, £140 look fantastic with heels.

As always, a gorgeous jumper from Hush £69, this two-tone version is paired with their Ashley trousers.

I'm a little obsessed with AQ/AQ and pretty much everything they have! First up are their Misha wide leg trousers, £110.

More heavenly wide leg trousers, the Serena high waist from AQ/AQ, £125 are stunning.

Oh but this Acacia sleeveless midi dress £115 is divine. I love the neckline and midi length and would ensure I wore huge earrings, very high heels and lots of red lipstick! Love.

A very pretty velvet crossover dress from Zara, £29.99 (because it wouldn't be a blog post without some mention of something from Zara!).

And Other Stories just get it right, every time. Their new Captain coat, £155 is one example of how good something can look!

A bit of artistic licence now with the navy, but this colour block jumper from And Other Stories, £49 is gorgeous. You can't beat red and navy!

This DVF Viera lace dress via Matchesfashion is now in their sale and quite frankly a bloody bargain! Now £125 (was £418).

You know my feelings about big earrings (I'm all for them!) and these navy tassel drop earrings from River Island are just £8.

Am liking these navy flatform trainers from TopShop, now just £15 (were £26).

So that's a quick run through of some navy favourites and you've probably still got The Village Peoples song in your head too - you're welcome!

As always feel free to leave comments or let me know if you're searching for something in particular and I'll do my best to include that in the next post.
