Summertime..

Obviously the Will Smith / Jazzy Jeff version...

So it's been a while - apologies, but I've been busy working with the most amazing clients. However with the glorious weather and a morning free I wanted to share some of my favourite swimwear ideas as it's nearly summer holiday time!

My advice for a swimwear trying on session would be, don't do this in shopping changing rooms! Seriously - do this at home. Firstly you can feel comfortable that no-one is going to accidentally walk in on you (well apart from the kids, but my daughter joins me for trying on sessions at home, which I encourage as she's got great taste and will tell me straight!).

Secondly you can really test out the swimwear - for example are you going to spill out of it if you raise your arms above your head? I regularly raise my arms up for things like waving madly at my husbands while he's at the beach bar (another G&T please!) or if my daughter gets me involved in the kids netball match in the pool - I can't help myself, I'm so ridiculously competitive but I have to win that one (and there is a lot of jumping around and dunking the other team under required)..

Thirdly, and this is the most important one, body confidence starts with you learning to love it all. So spend a bit of time in that cossie or bikini ensuring it doesn't rub or fall down, but also enjoy the fact that whatever size or shape you are, you're completely gorgeous - and make sure your kids know this too (that you're gorgeous!) because seeing a confident woman with curves, no curves, lumps, stretchmarks, cellulite, scars, will genuinely rub off on them and help them gain confidence with their own bodies as they grow.

So, after I did my usual and went off on a tangent (and little body confidence rant!) here are some of my favourite swimwear options around.

Amazing boobs? Lucky you! This polka dot bikini from Pour Moi via Simply Beach, £24 (top), £14 (briefs) is a stunner and the padding also helps lift and point you in the right direction.

Multi-coloured zebra print? Yes please! This is a one-piece from Charmline, £109 and has light shapewear and cup sizes up to an E.

More animal print (I know!) and an investment swimsuit, but the Luxe Leopard MiracleSuit, £155 is a lovely.

Swoon! Zimmerman with their Bayou Frill Bandeau, £360. Maybe one for when I win the lottery, but good god I love this!

Rainbow stripes and simple lines on this New Look swimsuit via Asos, £24.99.

More polka dots, this time from Frost French with their spot underwired bikini via Asos, £28 (top), £20 (high waisted bottoms). This is a great option as offers cup sizes from A - G.

I have a couple of Melissa Odabash bikinis that I trot out every holiday and they are still going strong. It's worth a look at The Outnet who have a great range of swimwear including this Melissa Odabash Barcelona bandeau bikini, £78 (was £194).

Finally finishing up with one of my all time favourite swimwear designers, Norma Kamali. My swimsuit was a total bargain but god it's gorgeous and again, is another one I pull out each year for holidays. The bikini top £198 (was £452) in this studded set has sold out, but the bottoms, £115 (were £257) are still available via The Outnet and you could pair them with a plain black bikini top (which is what I'm planning to do!).

As always get in touch with any questions or if you've got suggestions for something you'd like to read next time!

Enjoy the sunshine! x
